Anthony's Story: Information Letter and Sponsorship Commitment Form

Dear Sponsor,

Thank you for your willingness to help Anthony and his family! The money you donate will go towards his medical and equipment needs. On the 4th of November 2011, myself and 11 other friends will be running a 200 mile relay race in Tennessee, to raise money for Anthony, under the name “Team Anthony”. There are various ways in which you will be able to financially support Anthony. Because of the nature of this event, we will only be collecting these funds after we have completed the race.

If you would like to sponsor us, please complete the Sponsorship Commitment Form below and email it to runningforanthony100@gmail.com.

After we have completed the run we will send you feedback on the race, as well as details to direct you as to how you can make your financial contribution. We acknowledge that you are making a sacrifice to help this little boy, thank you, and we ask that you prayerfully consider your donation.

Commitment Options:

There are four options for sponsorship:

PERSONAL CONTRIBUTION: This is a once-off amount that you can decide to give, regardless of distance run. e.g. $100.00

2. SPONSOR A RUNNER PER MILE: For this option, you would decide on an amount to sponsor per mile that a runner completes. Depending on their position, runners will run between 10.5 - 20.2 miles in total. e.g. $2 per mile completed by runner 1* (16.5 miles) equals a total of $33.00.

3. SPONSOR TEAM ANTHONY PER MILE: For this option, you would decide on an amount to sponsor per mile that the Team completes. The race in 196 miles, so if we complete the entire race, whatever you decide to give per mile will be multiplied by 196. e.g. 50c per mile completed by Team Anthony equals a total of $98.00

4. SPONSOR THE RUNNERS (personal expenses) : Unlike the 3 options above, this money will go to paying for the costs of the runners, and not to Anthony directly, although assisting Team Anthony enables us to run and raise money for him :) As a Team, we have to pay $1140 entrance fee, as well as find our own transport to the race (for some that will mean traveling from Texas and other states). Along with this, it is required (by the race managers) that we have specific safely gear, e.g. reflector vests and head lamps. We would also like to have running shirts and long tops for the evening saying “Team Anthony”, as well as refreshments for the runners, as we will spend a total of about 24 - 48 hours running as a team.

Please be aware of the fact that a cheque for Option 4 must be made out to East Side Church of Christ. The name of our Team Treasurer, Lindsay White, or the words “Team Anthony” must be written in the memo. Cheques can be sent to the following address:

If you wish to make a donation to the runners, we would appreciate this to be done prior to the race. All other sponsorship (option 1-3) will be collected after the race.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE IN PARTICIPATING IN THIS RACE IS TO HELP ANTHONY AND HIS FAMILY, THEREFORE WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHOOSE ONE OF THE FIRST 3 SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS, AND ONLY SPONSOR US (THE RUNNERS) AS A 2nd SPONSORSHIP, IF YOU ARE IN A POSITION TO DO SO.

In this example, the sponsor would give $ 67.60 to Anthony (after the race), and $20 to the Team to pay towards their expenses (which will be mailed to the team before the race).
