Post 3: An update on Anthony

Hello everyone

I though it would be nice to give you an update on how Anthony is doing. There have been some changes since the video was made in July...

1) Anthony has received his Buggy! It fits him well but he still needs a foot strap. According to his Therapists, Anthony also still needs leg callipers (or something similar), which will have to be paid for privately, and which will cost approximately R2,000 ($250). He also requires a standing frame, but we  are currently unsure of how much this will cost.

2) Anthony has been receiving Physiotherapy for 30 min weekly, from a private rehabilitation hospital. An individual who is a friend of the familys' has been paying for this, at a cost of R150 per session ($18).

3) They are hoping Anthony will be able to start school at Aurora Stimulation Centre, Port Elizabeth, in January 2012. This will cost approximately R9,000 ($1,130) annually, to attend school from 8:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. However, this does not include transport. Of course, much funding will be needed if Anthony is going to attend this school.

4) Robinson, Anthony's father, has secured a job and Anthony's family has been able to pay back some of their outstanding rent! They are however still R7,500 ($940) behind.

That is all the news I have heard from them so far. Slowly but surely, things are improving for this family, however, there is still so much we can do! We are looking into the costs involved in getting Anthony health Insurance. Please continue to prayerfully consider how, together, we can help this little boy.

Matthew 25:31-40

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
